FAQS
Have a question? Hopefully you will find the answer below, if not feel free to get in touch and we will be happy to help.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as soon as possible for all sessions as the diary fills quickly once session availability is released.
With newborn sessions we recommend waiting until your 20 week scan before booking a session. This will give you a better idea of your due date.
What is a consent form?
All clients will need to sign a consent form, this allows us to ensure that everything is clear and that you know what to expect from the session, for example our cancellation policy and photo permissions. The consent form will be sent to you when confirming your booking and needs to be complete before the session.
Where are you located?
I am based in Kent, however, I also cover London too (£25 surcharge to cover travel expenses with London bookings). The beauty of our company is that sessions are in the comfort of your own home so you do not have to worry about the time and expense of travelling to a studio.
Can you help me choose clothing for the session?
When you book you will be sent detailed information about your session. We recommend where possible, for you to wear neutral, unpatterned clothing to keep the focus on you.
Are there any hidden costs?
There are no hidden costs with our packages. The price is the price. The price for additional images is detailed in the session description and can be ordered when you see your gallery.
As we are a Kent based company, any bookings in London have a surcharge fee of £25 to cover some of the travel expenses.
If you are needing your images sooner then you can pay our £75 rush fee.
What if I don't get the photos I hoped for?
Of course we always aim to provide you with photos you love, however, if you are not completley happy then we are happy to reschedule an alternative session. Additional sessions do still come with a fee.
How do you position and build a rapport with children during the session?
Prior to photography I was a primary school teacher so I understand that children don't always follow the plan.
During your appointment I will use a child-led approach to ensure that they feel safe and comfortable. For younger children, we may use props or parent support to position children to ensure safe practise throughout the session.
How many images can I choose?
Additional images can be purchased at the prices below.
1 digital image - £35
3 digital image - £100
5 digital image - £125
10 digital image - £200
Why do you need 48 hours for reschedulding?
This allows me the time to offer the session to someone else and provide you with an alternative date which better suits you.
I understand that sometimes 48 hours notice isn't possible, so I will try to be as flexible as possible for genuine emergencies.
Additional details for this can be found in the booking and consent forms.
Why do you need a deposit?
Your deposit is simply to secure your booking and covers the preperation of your session. This covers reservation, sending consent forms, discussing your colour options/photo styles. Likewise, if you do not attend your session the deposit helps to cover some of my lost time.
Can I request specific themes?
For mini sessions you can choose one of our backdrops, for full sessions backdrops will be chosed to you prior to your session. All props, outfits and backdrops must be chosen prior to your session.
How long do I have to wait to recieve my edited photos?
I am to have your images back to you as soon as possible, however, during busier times of the year and dependent on how full our diary is, this could take up to 4 weeks.
If you do need your images sooner then a rush fee of £75 can be paid to prioritise your images and cut down your wait time to within 1 - 2 weeks.
What happens if I take a copy of an image not purchased?
If you are found to be taking/screenshotting one or more of the session images which you have not purchased then you will be billed the cost of the entire gallery at £35 per image.
This is to preserve our reputation and livelihood. If this is found to be the case then the full amount will need to be paid within 28 days otherwise we will proceed with court action.
Do you offer mini sessions for every shoot?
Not all of our sessions have a mini session available, however, we do try to offer these where possible as they are a more budget friendly alternative.
The timings for sessions can be found in the session description. These are maximum timings, once we have got the images you want, should you wish to finish sooner that is fine.
What image retouching do you do?
The session price includes basic retouching and editing. This could be adjusting colour, contrast, highlights, shadows and even removing blemishes. We do not believe in heavy editing as the photographs will not be a true reflection of our work.
